Ephesians 6:17 … and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
The final piece of the armor we got to pick up and use every day is the sword. Remember this is not an accessory, but a necessity. Without this sword in us (the word of God) we do not have a divider between good and bad, between truth and lie, between real and fake.
The sword of the word… is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Heb 4:12)
When we don’t know what to do the word will cut through any thoughts in us that are blank, unhelpful, doubtful, restrainful. But we got to use the sword. We need to wield its power to cut down weeds in the grass, and to start seeing the road again.
Therefore we read the word, we eat the word, we need the word.
Today, let us wield the power of something so powerful it can cut your spirit and soul in half.
