Be strong #5 – Truth or Facts

Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place

It takes 6 pieces of armor to stand strong. Wearing the full armor is a necessity not an accessory. The first piece is the “belt of truth around your waist”.

This means you protect yourself with truth. You walk upright by truth. You move forward in truth. Truth is different than facts. The fact might be that sickness is seeking to overtake you, the truth is that by His stripes you are healed. The facts could say that I am poor, the truth is that “My God will supply all my needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (see Phil. 4:19). Truth is stronger than facts. Truth is truer than facts.

When you surround your waist with truth you are protected from lies. Lies always seek to destroy you. For example, you could be afraid of something but you know it is an irrational fear. Lies and worries try to cover your head. When you are protected by carrying truth around you every day, it is easy to discover and dismantle the lies, and they will quickly fall away from you.

Be blessed with truth today!
