Yes and Not No

It is hard to find someone who always keeps his promises. Have you ever said Yes and done No, or vice versa? With God, it’s easy. The Bible encourages us that his answer is always Yes.

2 Corinthians 1:19-20 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silast and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.”20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

In this week leading up to Easter we are remembering what Jesus has done for us. He brought us new life. He said Yes to us. Whatever promises there are in the Bible, Christ is saying Yes about them. The question for us is: are we saying Amen?

To appropriate the promise in our life we must believe and not doubt. We must say Amen to every Yes.

Amen. Yes, I believe that. Thank you God.
