Let go and let God

It is amazing how difficult the struggle of life is when you try to do it all on your own. Fighting against God, trying to control the situation in our own strength, will not win us the battle but only wear us out.

Joshua 23:10 One of you routs a thousand, because the Lord your God fights for you, just as he promised.

When we let God fight for us we can suddenly be a thousand times stronger than on our own. Let me ask this question: did David beat Goliath? Or did God beat him?

David did what he could do, what he was trained to do, what he was prepared to do. Yet the most important thing that he did was to rely completely on God that day. There is strength in surrender. God’s hand came on the stone flung from David’s slingshot, and propelled it a thousand times faster than David could have mustered in his own strength – into Goliath’s forehead.

The anointing of God can rest on whatever you do – so that you may prosper, and have success in all things. Nothing will be impossible for us, no temptation unbearable, no fight too hard – if we just let God be God.
