Good God

Luke 18:19-19 A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.

Many people say about Jesus, “he was certainly a good man, but he was not God”. The rich ruler was like this. He approached Jesus from an intellectual viewpoint: he must be a good teacher. But Jesus challenged this mindset.

If you are willing to call Jesus good, you got to be willing to research his claims. No one can be declared “good” if he makes the claim that he is God, that he will die for your sins, and that he will be raised from the dead. Jesus made such claims. Either such a person is crazy, or the devil himself, or he speaks the truth. Only in the latter case, can we say that they are a good peson. And that they are God.

If Jesus is good, he got to be God. There’s no other option he left us.
