Feeling weak?

Ever looked in the mirror and said to yourself “I’m feeling weak today”? Join the human race. All of us at some point will lack the strength to continue, the strength to be a parent, the strength to work, or the strength to minister and serve others.

At this point you can do two things: look into the mirror at your own face, or look into the mirror of God:

1 Chronicles 16:11 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

The mirror of yourself will not provide the strength you need. You will slump onto the couch, not feeling ready for anything. The mirror the Lord provides is the Spirit of God who will renew your energy. Countless times have I been at the end of my strength, but by “looking to the Lord” in prayer, meditation and worship, I have gained new strength: God’s strength. I have been able to continue to work, minister, live, with a renewed energy.

Today, don’t just look into your own mirror, at your own face. Look to the Lord, and seek his face.

Isaiah 40:31
Those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
