Proportional Giving

Giving (financially) to God is one of the best things we can do to:
1) keep our lives free from the love of money
2) keep our hearts trusting in God
3) keep our hands doing good

Some people can give large amounts to God, others smaller amounts. What counts is not how much we give, but the proportion we give. When you are a millionaire it is easy to give €1000 to God. But for a student it might be all they have.

Luke 21:2-3 (Jesus) also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “I tell you the truth,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.

The widow gave all she had. This qualified her above the others, as a high proportionate giver.

In our church we have a saying “equal sacrifice, not equal giving”. For everyone the amount of giving can be different but the “stretch of giving” the same. Only let us give according to our own level of faith.
