Keep on keeping on

Sometimes a lack of faith or enthusiasm of people around you can keep you from moving on, or stepping up. Jesus encountered opposition and this influenced his ability to perform miracles.

Mark 6:5-6 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

Nothing could deter Jesus from his mission. He kept on keeping on. He even involved more people in the mission and gave them authority over sickness as well. Rather than diminishing in strength, Jesus kept releasing authority to others to spread his influence instead of holding it back. Whereas it said in verse 6 he could only heal a few, when we get to verse 13 in this chapter we see his disciples healing many: “They anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.”

By the end of the chapter healing is spreading like wildfire: “All who touched him were healed” (vs. 56).

When you encounter negativity, don’t give in. Instead, release a spirit of positive faith to others and keep the fire going.
